About

Roderick Perrymond, affectionately called “Pastor Rod”, is a native of Atlanta, GA and grew up in the Gresham Park area with dreams of becoming a pro football player. He was a former all-class player of the year in Georgia, part of Dunwoody’s 1993 state championship team that went 15-0 and as a running back he finished with 40 touchdowns in his senior year of high school, two short of Herschel Walker’s state record at the time. Pastor Rod was the first ever Mr. Georgia Football. He graduated from Dunwoody High School where he received a football scholarship to the University of Georgia. He went on to complete his college education at West Georgia College and State University where he received his Bachelor’s. He would then go on to receive a Master’s of Education in Special Education from Georgia College and State University.

Pastor Roderick Perrymond taught in the public school system….but this along with his dream of becoming a Pro Athlete became second nature to his stronger desire to become more committed to God and ministry. He never imagined himself being a youth minister and definitely not a Pastor of a Church; however, he knew he possessed the gift to bring unity and love among people. Although he was a very good teacher, carried the ball and made the plays, the greatest move was in realizing his call to ministry in 1999.

Pastor Roderick Perrymond is the pastor of New Love Tabernacle Christian Church in Lithonia, Ga. Pastor Roderick Perrymond attended and received his Master’s in Apologetics from Luther Rice Seminary in 2013. Pastor Roderick Perrymond wants to leave a legacy of love in tomorrow’s leaders to understand that leadership is measured by how many people you serve and not by how many people serve you. Pastor believes in empowering members with a vision that will outlive the Visionary.

Pastor Rod has been married to his high school sweetheart Wayneshia Perrymond for 12 years and they have two beautiful children, Autumn and Roderick II (known as RJ).
